Kia ora, my name is Jess, and I provide a loving home-based childcare service through Nurture@Home, quality education and home childcare in central Blenheim.
I believe that the first 1000 days of a child’s life are the most important for setting them up for success. Through child-led, caring, and responsive teaching, I believe that all children can thrive, and I place a substantial value on children developing an understanding of themselves as confident and capable learners. It is my passion to ensure that all children are given access to the opportunities, resources, and environments that allow them to express themselves and to grow and learn in their own way!
We have a variety of pets including three chickens, two dogs, a cat, and lots of tropical fish. I am a fully registered teacher with a training background in educational psychology. I have experience caring for children from the age of 0 through to 11 and have experience with children with a range of diverse needs and backgrounds.
I offer a range of experiences in and out of the home including library visits, music groups, attending Nature Focus, parks and walks in the community. I also have a garden with a variety of fruit and vegetables for tamariki to spend time learning about nature and creating food for themselves and offer a variety of creative, messy and water play activities in my home!
